Organizations that are non-profit are those that do not make a profit
for the owners or shareholders. Generally, they are tax-exempt entities
such as the YMCA, boys and girls clubs, United Way, and the Red
Cross. Churches and some hospitals, research institutions, social
service agencies, and universities are also non-profit organizations.
Management salaries in
non profit organizations vary considerably, but tend to be a little
less than those in other types of organizations. However, in some
instances, salaries can reach up into the $100,000 range.
